At this moment, the campus renovation Rachelsmolen is in full swing. With the Virtual Showroom Rachelsmolen and the Augmented Reality App (AR) you can get a nice sneak peek of what the campus will look like. The AR app can be used at a number of locations around the building site. The QR codes can be found on the fences around the site.
You can watch the construction live via the webcam or take a real look during a guided tour. You can register for this tour here (exclusively for Fontys staff and students).
Sticking to the sticky campus The campus is increasingly becoming a place where not only education is provided, but also where we can meet each other. Fontys is building an environment and space where meeting, collaborating and forming an identity are central: the basis for Fontys students. With a recognisable home base for everyone, but also with shared educational areas and facilities such as catering, culture, sports and relaxation. Fontys opens its doors to the professional field and to educational partners. Institutes and research groups increasingly work together: across programmes and focusing on socially relevant themes.
Fontys Fieldlabs - short film Fontys not only invests in its campuses but also in hybrid learning environments: the place or environment where students and teachers increasingly work together with the professional field. A physical learning environment in professional practice, i.e. off-campus, is what we call a Fieldlab. In a Fieldlab, there is intensive cooperation with partners in the field who are easy to approach. This contributes to meeting and developing knowledge. In this short film , six Fontys fieldlabs are portrayed with background information, the way the fieldlabs function and the lessons learned for the future.
Why is Fontys building for the future? Fontys is helping to build a sustainable, inclusive and vital society. Our physical learning and working environments change along with what society asks of us. Trends and developments, such as digitisation and hybridisation, mean that we must design our campuses differently. Only classrooms and study areas are no longer enough. For example, there must be more room for coaching and for more intensive cooperation with the professional field. We are working towards a campus where everyone wants to stick around: a sticky campus. And towards physical learning environments in professional practice: fieldlabs.
Together with students, teachers, partners in the field, educational partners and by involving the (regional function of) cities where Fontys is located, we are working on creating room for innovation. Together we build the future!
